Welcome back.
Module II is different. It tests whether you can read a 5-page case, parse financial exhibits under time pressure, and reason across topics to answer 7 questions about a single hospital situation. Today's job: open one case, read the exhibits, work the questions. Stack one more day toward the credential.
📊 Your CHFP commitments
What are you holding yourself to between now and exam day? Add a commitment, mark each period green (kept), yellow (partial), or red (missed). Click cells to cycle. Consistency beats intensity.
The 12-week game plan
Weeks 1-4 — Read. Work all 8 cases untimed. Read every rationale, including for the wrong answers.
Weeks 5-8 — Drill timed. 22-minute single-case mode. Build pace.
Weeks 9-12 — Full mocks. 3-hour, all 8 cases, no breaks. Repeat until you finish with time to spare AND score 70%+.
The week before the exam. One final full mock. Review the Case-Reading Framework. Sleep.
The SMART App — your daily leader practice
Track your study time. Track your sleep, exercise, mindful growth, problem-solving habits, rhythm. The same daily practice Walter uses with his coaching clients — bundled free with your Module II purchase.
Why this matters for CHFP: the candidates who pass on the first try are the ones who built daily study discipline. The SMART app makes that discipline visible. Your CHFP license activates the SMART app automatically — same key works in both.

The Case-Reading Framework
How to attack a Module II case in 22 minutes without panicking. Same discipline Walter would teach you sitting next to you.
Minute 0-3 — Orient
Skim the background. Identify three things: (1) what kind of hospital is this? (2) what is the strategic situation? (3) what decision is the CFO facing? Don't try to memorize. Just orient.
Minute 3-6 — Survey the exhibits
Glance at every exhibit before reading the questions. Note what each one IS (income statement, payer mix, sensitivity table) and what the footnotes say. Don't compute yet.
Minute 6-9 — Read all 7 questions
Read every question before answering any. Map each question to its exhibit. Identify the easy ones (definitional, single-data-point) versus the synthesis ones (requiring cross-exhibit reasoning).
Minute 9-19 — Answer in order
Easy ones first (build confidence and time buffer). Synthesis ones second. Flag any question that requires >90 seconds; come back to it.
Minute 19-22 — Review
Go back to flagged questions. Don't second-guess answers you were confident about — Module II rewards initial intuition on well-prepared candidates.
